 or maybe it's called a starter cutout switch.

Hi Steve
well its actually both.
because of automobile Laws in many countries, an automatic car must be able to start ONLY in neutral
the switch is located on the LHS of the nose of the gearbox
I've always been meaning to have a switch in the car to bypass the NSS
so, if problems arise... I can still start My car in gear and drive away..
