Title: dvda routing of vac lines looks fishy with that tee
Post by: squirrelly jim on 11 July 2011, 20:54
Hey Everybody,
tell me what you think about the vac lines. I have been reading and seeing pics that tell me i have a after market carb that PO rigged to work. I was wondering if this would have anything to do with not being able to shift into gears as well?  Are the 12mm vac lines original or are the OK? click on pic to enlarge. thanks

Jim,
What a nasty piece of booty ghetto-fab that PO rigged for you >:(.

Drill that carb as per my instructions as it hasn't got the CV port - ergot it's a manual carb.

What Bosch/VW number is on the distributor?

As to whether things will tidy up, that depends on everything being equal! However, fixing up the vac lines properly is a first step in the right direction!!

From what my vodka sodden eyes can peruse, it looks *mostly* OK. I can't tell what your 12mm hose looks like, sorry. Parts section for CV mount replacements. CV is a bit rusty on the solenoid body from what I can barely make out....
