Hello, I'm a fresh AS owner from norway and I have a couple of questions. The AS i bought is a 1303S 1973, and it haven't been started for 16 years. It needed a bit of new parts in the engine, like new pistonrings. All this went well, it started fine but it won't idle. I've checked the carburator and that's ok. So I'm wondering if anyone could help me with any advice what to do? I'm also wondering if I have connected the vacuumhoses correctly, any advice about that to please? Pictures would be great! By the way I'm very satisfied with the purchase of the AS, it's only two cars like this(from that year) in Norway :) Sorry if the language is bad, haven't written english in some years ;D

i had a similar problem on my beetle when i first brought it,after several weeks of head scratching,i was reccomended to look at the points,however i could not see how this would affect the idle but not the start
i eventually changed the points(in the end to electronic ignition) and can not belive the difference,it starts,idles and runs,like a new car.
so 1st thing is to look at the points
