Sadly enough my beetle is not road legal anymore, to much rust damage, needs restuaration badly now.
Becouse i need a car to drive to work i bought myself a watecooled boxer, kind of old love of mine its the 3th one, an Alfa Romeo 33 type 3 1.5 IE lusso, so i can enjoy now daily this Italian boxer and meanwhile restaure my beetle.
Hope can tell here soon the beetle is on the road again, probaly need to tell soon because the Alfa Romeo wil probaly break down fast, lol.

You are lucky to find a good alfa...
They rusted out VERY quickly.... here in Australia...
also had mechanical problems....
I remember reading of a fellow who had one still under warranty
but there were no dealers to fix it.... that was many years ago...
You can now buy New Alfas again in Australia...
Without backup and good servicing no cars last very long..
The Spanish SEAT which is made by part of the VW Empire and are similar to other VW Models.
They arrived here about 10 years ago, and lasted about 2 years...
SKODA is back again also.... but not selling big....

Little update, my beetle is till looking with sad eyes at me, begging for some more love and attention, he stil not is road legal.
And my water cooled flatfour?, well ended up at scrap, beld that drives camshaft snapped at 6500rpm, valves hammerd in to cilinderhead, piston rod bend, crankshaft dammaged, shortly, a big mess.
Good thing of that is, i have more time now to spend on my beetle.
