Hey Bill ,
Welcome , i am fairly new here too but its a great place for info/help lots of knowledgeable people around .
have a good one dude !
Hi
Does the Bradley use a type 1 beetle chassis or a type 3 chassis??
I have heard of a couple of people who have fitted the type 3 fully auto into a beetle...
but it is a big job... one fellow said it wasn't too hard... He must be one of those guys who can do most things...lol
the other guy said it was a Very BIG job... as the auto gearbox doesn't fit between the chassis horns...
so, many many modifications...
cheers
LEE
greetings lee ,
the bradley sits on a type 1 pan.i could put a type 3 pan under it and that would fix the frame horn issue .for those unfamillar with type 3's it creates a new issue. since the engine tranny combo is supported by a mount at the nose of the tranny and a motor bar at the pulley end of the motor which is held up by mounts at the end of the bar which fasten to the sides of the engine compartment to the body.unfortunately since the bradley's body is made of fiberglass and the engine compartment is made of plywood and fiberglass i don't believe there is enough structural strength there to handle the weight and torque.
i had heard of a guy on an old bradley forum that said his had came on a type 3 pan with an automatic but he had killed his tranny and was putting an irs in instead.he never posted any pics tho.
i have found a couple of conversion setups companies have made for the triker's .
if i cant find one to suit my needs i'm all up for a little creativity...
