Title: Anyone have a 1972 or 1973 Bug with the EGR?
Post by: rayar3 on 11 January 2013, 05:01
I trying to complete the engine bay so nothing is missing. It seems the 1972-1973 autostick Bugs had a specific EGR and also a different heat riser/manifold setup too. The EGR pipe is a separate part that screws onto the EGR valve unlike the more common valve/pipe setup on 1974-later cars.

If you've got a picture I'd appreciate it because I can't find the pipe anywhere and I might have to get one made.

sorry,
Autosticks for Australia were made with many differences to the North American and Californian beetles.
No EGRs here..  also 1973 wasn't a big year for autostick sales in Australia.
I've only heard of one or two..
I didn't know of all the differences to beetle engines etc in the USA in the 70s..

best of luck
