Title: Fuel pipe question
Post by: FESTERER on 23 April 2013, 00:51
We recently purchased our second semi auto and decided to start by inspecting the engine today in the hope to get running. There is a double fuel pipe, does anyone know if this would be original or possibly done by the previous owner as we've never seen this before and isn't on my other semi auto.

I'm just making a WAG and I have never seen one, but some VWs had an optional gasoline heater, could this be the way the gas was supplied to it?

Hi yes it may have been for a gas heater.. they were common in cold climates..
looks very home made.. lol  no hose clamps either..
I would just throw it away.. lol
and fit a new hose from above the rear axle fuel pipe to the pump.. using clamps..
I always double clamp in areas I can't see..

Thanks guys, i'll be removing it then!
Got the old girl running yesterday,  really pleased because we don't think she'd run for about 10 years.
