Title: Coil and control valve wires.
Post by: HighHooder on 27 April 2013, 00:23
I've been searching and might be just getting frustrated, but just how many wires are supposed to go to the coil and where do the wires from the cv go?

(Am I doing this right?

Hi
Yes, looks correct..
the control valve gets its power from the coil on most cars.. + ignition +fuel cutoff valve on carby

so should work OK

Bad thing to have any fuel filter in engine compartment..
that is what causes VWs to burn..
the weight of the fuel filter [going up and down] pulls the pipe out of the carby or fuel pump..
best to have them under the fuel tank or above the LHS rear wheel where the fuel pipe comes out of the chassis..

cheers

PS: Most VW owners carry a fire extinguisher in their VW.. in Australia..
in front of the gear stick or on the floor in front of the seat or upright on the door jamb..
at least 1kg capacity..
