Title: WINTER is here - so I have to reverse into My garage... FIXED
Post by: 68autobug on 20 May 2008, 15:09

Well Winter is here.... that means temperatures around 30F or 0C overnight

and i have to reverse My beetle into My garage at night..
as yeaterday, I tried to reverse out of My garage
and as My engine carburetor doesn't have a choke as yet
I had to keep revving the engine
when i released the gear shifter
the rear wheels spun and the engine stopped..
this happened a number of times...

Now, with the car reversed into the garage, I can put the car in Drive 1 or drive 2
and drive out with the engine revving...

but I'm going to fit an electric choke shortly
but will that mean, that with the engine revving..
I'll still spin the wheels in reverse??

I'll think I'll keep reversing into the garage
that at least, will keep my Wife happy...

well I have fitted a piece of choke cable onto the carburetor
so I can put the choke on in the morning
for My Wife..  lol   or Me...

but now My Wife prefers to drive out the driveway...

Nose first....  lol

I have to make My engine bay warmer for My engine with the cold temps..

I will be fitting a VW air filter and warm air pipe and hose
and closing the engine lid
and placing the oil cooler under the car above the gearbox..

I forgot about the winter !!!!
