Title: Rebuilt Control Valve? Caveat Emptor!
Post by: Bookwus on 13 July 2008, 09:20
Hiya All,

While the following link is not an e-Bay auction item, I thought it merited inclusion on this board simply to serve as an alert to folks who might be interested in buying AutoStick related parts.

Take a look........

While the control valve offered in this ad looks all nice and shiny, prospective buyers need to be aware of two very important pieces of information before pulling out their wallet.

1.  The parts to rebuild a control valve have long since disappeared from the marketplace.  To completely rebuild a control valve three separate kits were needed.  None of those kits have been available since the nineties.  Of course, that brings into question the advertiser's claim that their control valve is rebuilt.

2.  Most control valves up for sale (and the prices run around $40US) will likely be functioning units.  Even those that are in terrible shape on the outside are usually in quite nice shape on the inside.  One can clean up a used operable control valve and make it look like new for a lot less than $250.
