Title: Good Deal on a Flexplate
Post by: Bookwus on 26 October 2008, 21:20
Hiya All,

Strictly speaking the following is NOT an eBay auction, but this flexplate will probably cost you less than one in an eBay auction and the shipping is thrown in for free.  Additionally this is supposed to be "reconditioned" although I can't imagine what that might mean other than being cleaned up a bit.  All in all though, this is a nice looking piece...................

Hi Mike

I think sometimes reconditioned means "painted silver"  lol

excellent price though...

I actually looked at ebay motors in the USA today 26th Dec
and the prices asked for some parts are way too expensive...
especially if the parts are in Germany..

I thought I might find a bargain... lol
I did find two key blanks that match My 4 keys...  [lol]

but I already bought 4 VW keys at about $20 each off ebay aust a while back..
I went over all the keys they were selling, got them to email Me some big pics etc...
and they ended up the incorrect ones....  lol..
Now I think it doesn't matter what the keys look like as long as I have spares...
the local keycutters will NOT touch another key but their own..
as some keys are made from hard material and it wrecks their cutting wheels which can cost hundreds of dollars..

I do know of a fellow who has his own keycutting machine and He did some keys for Me a few years ago..
maybe He can buy the blanks..??
