I have been checking the dash bulbs to insure that they are all good. The ATF temperature bulb socket appears to need 2 wires going to it, one from the fuse panel providing power, and a wire that goes to the ATF temp sender than provides ground when the sender is tripped by high temperature. My dash socket for the ATF bulb only has the black power wire from the fuse box. I have looked but fail to see the blue/yellow wire that comes from the ATF sender. Can someone guide me where this wire comes into the rear of the dash? Also, where on the car is the actual ATF sender located.
I have already ordered the Bentley manual but it has not arrived here yet.
Any guidance is much appreciated.

SW = Black
bl/ro = blue/red
F13 = temp sensor on transmission

If I am reading it correctly, the wire from the ATF temp sender is blue/yellow. I am hoping to get an idea how this wire is run into the dash area. Or, if someone direct me to where the ATF sender is actually located, I will place a tone on that wire and trace that tone into the dash area.

It is on the passenger side (LHD car) of the trans bellhousing. Towards the front (of car) from where your ATF hydraulic hoses bolt to the bellhousing (rear).

I'm sure that this is just a way of checking for continuity, but what's with the "tone" business? That's the first I've heard of using a tone. Have an explanation for my somewhat addled old brain?

It looks like you got it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like a black wire goes from the light (K9) to the fuse panel.

Yes the black wire goes to the fuse panel. The black wire is there and hooked up correctly, the other wire that comes from the sender is missing or hidden somewhere. That's the wire I need to trace.
As far as tone tracing is concerned, I have an old tone generator that phone guys use to trace one wire among a bunch of wires. It is just a simple square wave generator that produces a dual frequency tone. One output wire from the generator hooks to any ground, and the other tone generator output wire hooks to one end of the wire to be traced. I then use a small amplified speaker that you only need to place near the bunch of wires and the tone is weakly heard. The loudest tone will be on the actual wire you are tracing. This is similar to continuity tracing but one doesn't have to actually make contact with the copper wire, just be near it. It usually is the quickest way to trace and find wires. The only drawback is when you are tracing a wire that has branches everywhere, then the tone is everywhere. But for this temp light wire, that should not be an issue.

plus many spares... lol
I have another telltale lamp on My dash for the ATF temp lamp
but I've never tested the senders... lol
