Title: new window seals
Post by: Robertsgotabug on 22 February 2010, 20:11
This weekend i replaced my window seals. Not all that bad of a job. Alot of time and Not something to rush though. Got the two side windows and rear window done. next weekend to do the front. No more dry rotted and cracked window seals, Neater and cleaner looking. I would like to thank the little miss for helping and all her hard work. A good tip is to keep the heavy rubber seals very warm and plyable, they will work esayer. I found the weed wacker (timmer line) to work the best when putting the windows back in.

Hiya Robert,

Did you use dishwashing soap or spray soap to lubricate the seals?

Hi
I found the side windows OK , but luckily I had My Son [with lots of experience]
who helped with the rear window as it was very difficult...
I Have always used soapy water on the rubbers...

I think it depends on what rubbers you have...
like, who made them... lol
and how they fit etc...

I have always used 4 or 5mm PVC covered wire to put windows in..

I have the easy task soon, of taking the side ones out and replacing them with pop out windows.. lol

LEE

PS: I heard of a fellow who used armorall on the window rubbers...
He shut His door with the windows up.....
and one of the side ones popped out.....  lol

OOOO...Lee when you do your pop out windows, please photograph the steps, I've considered pop outs not to long ago myself, would love to see how it works out for you!
