Does the auto stick use a manual or automatic starter?

Manni,
          Bosch SR 17X. Definitely NOT a manual car's starter. Dunno about whether it was the same one for the Automatic type 3's.

Hi guys

I believe the type 3 fully auto starter was the same as Ours.
I have heard the Kombi Bus auto starter is very similar and bolts on, but the solenoid is in a different spot..  which shouldn't be an issue..?? ON AUTOSTICKS...

but heard recently that an automatic starter like ours wouldn't fit onto a manual type 2 kombi bus as the fuel tank was there..
