Hi everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself to what looks like a VERY great source of info for autosticks.  I just purchased a 69 Ghia with an autostick for my wife.  Although I've done a number of restorations (mostly MGBs and American cars) and am currently building a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe, I've never owned or worked on an aircooled VW, so this is a new experience for me.

In any case, I'm starting out on the Ghia restoration and one of the things I need to do is replace the plastic wood grain dash insert.

Here is my simple question -- The current dash insert has a sticker that shows the shift pattern of the autostick.  Since I'll be replacing the dash insert I need a source for the sticker.  Is there anyone selling these stickers, or should I just make up my own on the home couputer.

Thanks much for any advice and I look forward to being involved in your fourm.

Hiya Leg,

Welcome to the forum!

The gear shift pattern sticker/decal for an AutoStick has been discussed in a few threads here at VWAR.  Apparently, the needs for Karmann Ghia owners are a bit different than those of a Bug owner when it comes to these patterns.  Not that the pattern itself is different, but the method and place of application does vary.  Just something to keep in mind when perusing the threads about this subject below................

Thanks for pointing me to the other threads on this topic.  Looks like I'm not the only one that is looking for a sticker for the dash.

My wife had a suggestion similar to one that was brought up in one of the comments, to have the sticker made up by a company that does that type of work.  Something I plan to look into.  If it works out ok I'll make sure I post the info so other folks can have some made up if they need to.
