Hi Everyone,

I joined this forum back in 2009 and at that time I had ventured on a project to build a Meyers Manx Dune Buggy using an Autostick. I made a few initial posts posing some questions and the replies were very informative and greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, due to pressing family and job concerns I had to put the project on the back burner.

However, I am back on track and I have been very busy for the past few months.

I purchased a crate 1776 motor from GEX, I installed four wheel disc brakes using a Ford bolt pattern and installed Cragar Mag wheels. I have completed and installed the engine along with a dual carbs, electronic ignition, and a sidewinder exhaust header system. I am coming close to finishing the project with just a few items remaining to be done. I have to install the wiring harness - I am using a EZ Wiring harness that most hot rodders use and it seems it will be an easy adaptation. I have already adapted the AS Vacuum canister and ATF tank to the buggy's chassis and body configuration - it was a mind boggler but I worked it out. In fact, I just did that this evening. Now I am at the point of installing the CV and the vacuum hoses and ATF lines, which I don't anticipate any problems.

There are a few things that I could use some help with:

1. On the transaxle there are four electric terminals - two are immediately behind the bellhousing on the drivers side and I am certain they are for monitoring ATF temperature. Halfway back from them about the middle of the trans there is another electric terminal and near the tail on the opposite side there is a fourth terminal. I cannot find anything in the Bentley manual about these terminals. I would assume one to be a neutral safety switch (starter cut out) and the other possibly a back up light switch. Any help identifying these terminals would be greatly appreciated.

2. Any help with hose connections (both vacuum and ATF) would be a big help. I think I pretty much have the ATF lines figured out, yet any help would be great.

3. Any advice and/or help with info on initial settings with the shifter, vacuum servo, etc. before start up would be a really big help.

I will try to attach a picture of the Buggy with motor attached and I look forward to any responses.

Thanks,

Tony

Attached is a pic of my trans - I am certain that the two switches near the bell housing are temp sensors, however, the switch in the middle is the one I thought was the temp selector switch, but it has only two terminals and I thought the temp selector had three. Could that swith be the reverse light switch. If so, then what about the temp selector switch? do I really need one or is there an alternate way of wiring from the sensors to a dash light?
