Basic Pictures for a Beginner

If at all possible, can anyone post some pictures showing all of the actual parts of the AS system? I would love to see a perfect setup so that I can model my hack-job the right way.

Maybe even some pictures of the underside. It would be nice to know how to get at some of the stuff near the trans for someone without a lift.

Brad,
After something in particular or nothing specific? There isn't much you can't see just poking around.
Probably the nastiest spot is where the vacuum servo sit's, NSS switch or (for the US guys & later model owners) reverse switch wiring. I haven't actually seen a pic of the gearstick wire connections in my time here. I've seen it with my own glassy orbs but not a pic.

Let us know, some of us may have something tucked away.

Thanks for the reply, Volks (is it okay if I call you Volks?),
I was just hoping to get clear pictures of the pump, the servo, the cv, the tanks. I just thought it would be nice to have a pic and a caption that says something about access to this part, installation, cleaning. I have a copy of all of the repair manuals, I just thought a description of stuff for the beginner would be good. Maybe even a series of posts regarding each piece of the system. For example, I tried and tried but I could not get to the pump so I had to bring it to my mechanic so he could put it on the lift and change a hose.

Here are another couple of photos..

the clutch servo operates the clutch when You move the gear lever

the ATF pump sits on top of the normal engine oil pump

arrows show the direction of the Automatic transmission fluid..

Hi another few pics

Control valve operates the clutch servo

ATF pump disassembled - the two seals seperate the ATF from the engine oil
these seals haven't been available but Now can be bought from evw in the USA.
