Hi all,
Having only owned a 1970 SA since Oct'23 I'm new to the game and have been trying to establish how many others survive in UK. So far (via a Facebook group) we have ID'd 17 beetles on the road, 4 in resto and 4 karmann ghia.
I have come across a copy of a letter from VW Automuseum jn '98 stating they have no records of exactly how many were supplied to UK, but that 610,300 were produced in total. It is not clear whether this is exclusively beetle or includes KG.
A Semi-Auto Beetle Register [UK] used to exist in the 90s but this is now long defunct. In '98 they had over 150 cars on their list. They produced Newsletters, sold stickers and at one point even t-shirts, although I have yet to see one or its design. I thought the above might be of general interest to some. If anyone can provide further info (of any nature), let me know.

Hi there,

Sounds like they are becoming hens teeth in the UK then.  We have a '73 L plate stored away since 1996.  In need of a restoration unfortunately when finances allow.
