Hey AS Volks.. 1st time posting here.
I have a 1970 Ghia Autostick.  Everything is pretty stock & original. Runs and drives super well!
Yesterday I thought I would tackle getting the reverse lights working. I had previously jumped the connectors and confirmed the lights light up.. so I assumed the switch was bad.

I replaced the switch with a tested-good one.. still nothing!
so I tested the old switch on a lark.. and it worked!! what?

Finally, after it started to get dark in the shop in the evening I noticed something... the reverse lights are coming on when I'm in 1, but not in any other gear!!?? so for months, and hundreds of miles.. I've just been driving around with my reverse lights on almost all of the time and no one told me!

So, why would this be?? I can't think of a possible cause.

any guesses?

Also, question #2: does anyone know a part # or have a source for the ATF temp warning bulb socket? I'm trying to solve a problem with my blinker indicator, and if I could find the ATF type socket I would be able to just run a normal modern 3-pin flasher instead of the "black box" which has +12v back-fed through the stock bulb.

You may try adjusting your shifter. Here is a link to the adjusting procedure here on VWAR.
