Hi guys,
I have a 1976 (Aug 3, 1975 Build) - That has an automatic.
I also have the 1972 ASBug.
Totally different beast, but still neat to drive (type 2).
Any way, it has the 1.8l Type IV and the Pre '76 3 spd automatic trannie.
I am missing the cot and the center stool and the front table, but have the deluxe stove and refridgerator as well as the pop top.  Interior is 8.5/10, but it has rusty rockers and dog legs.  Not the worst that I have seen, but not the best either.
Any way, I do not post much, but look in alot.
ASBug is running great, I was able to purchase a complete AS set up from a 1969 bug (except the manifold) locally as a spare and I have another 1600 DP that I am thinking of getting a 1968 one day and converting it back into an AS car.  I am looking for just the right 1968 convertable to convert to AS.  That would be a great car...
Any way, just curious if anyone out there with the later Air cooled automatic was welcome as well.

Hiya ASB,

This website is focused on the AutoStick transmission used in Type 1s from 68 to early 76.

However, that does not mean we are exclusively AutoStickers.  But it does mean that our knowledge and experience is pretty much AutoStick related.  We're only too happy to have you and that automatic Type 2 hang around these parts.  If you have any techie kinda questions about the Type 2 automatic we'll do our best to scare up answers or, at the very least, point you in the right direction for good information.

I'm a Busowner myself.  But mine is an Early BayWindow (1970) with the Type 1 engine and a manual tranny.

Hi
as Mike said, You are welcome...
We don';t have many type 2/3 or 4 automatic owners on here.

The fully automatics may be too complicated for Us... :D :D

Welcome to the VW Automatic register...

cheers
