well guys i finally brought the ghia home.i went to daytona bch. fl. to pick the car up and i test drove the car about 20 miles or so and fell in love.which i didnt make that real apparent to the owner but you know the feeling im talking about.i asked several questions about the car and he answered every one which gave me a good feeling about the trade.the a/s is i think the best thing vw ever came up with,it is unreal the satisfaction you get with this car.i thought i was going to be a little unsatisfied with the performance of the car but oh my god its great.L is a good gear to have,but 1&2 are all you need for this car to function.i really learned alot the little time ive spent on this site and is the reason ive ended up with this car. i thank you guys for your help and will be on this site for future help im sure.ill send new pics. soon.
thanks again

Yep Clint..
We love picures....

I use LOW gear a lot... mainly because of the acceleration..
but if I'm just driving about in no hurry and no traffic
I stay in Drive 1 or even Drive 2 sometimes...

I was reading a book a few days ago [written in 1968]
and the author says "the Semi Automatic option is well worth the extra money.."

they handled better than the swing arm Beetle and Karmanns of 1968

as they have the same rear axle as the Super bugs and beetles had later on..

one great Car ..  Congratulations on a good buy...

Karmann Ghias are Very Expensive in Australia
a good one is $25,000+++AU

cheers
