Constant Velocity Joints - photos -

Hi
I have three Constant velocity joints that have been taken off their axles.
The first all yellow one shows how the ball bearings are located [inner & outer]
the next photo shows a complete Constant velocity joint with
ball bearings, cage and inner piece.
You will notice some X on the CV Joints...
when assembling a CV Joints with the ball bearings removed
the Inner & outer parts marked with an X must go together...

once these are fitted to the axles they are filled up with Lithium based Moly grease
and they will last for a very long time....

the inner and outer parts where the balls go should be free of any
pits or wear marks....

Here is a CV Joint without the outer piece
showing the cage and the ball bearings

the CV Joints are held onto the axle with a circlip..
which can be taken off with circlip pliers [not easy]
or a small screwdriver and small hammer.. [easier] IMHO

The CV Joints only go onto the axle one way..
and the boots only fit onto one side..
