Hiya All,

Sean (volkenstein) noticed that we were answering quite a few "where does this vacuum hose go" kinda questions.  He thought it would be beneficial for future reference to post up this sort of information in a picture format.  So, that's what we are going to attempt to do with this thread.  Since the vacuum connections differ slightly from carburetor to carburetor (and distributor also) we will be showing the vacuum connections for the 30 series carburetors, 30/31s, 34PICT3s (both SVDA and DVDA), and Fuel Injection.

The 30 Series Carburetors......................

We're using a 30PICT3 as a model in these photographs.  Connections for a 30PICT1 or a 30PICT2 should be similar.

As you peer into the engine compartment you should be seeing this..............

The red arrow indicates the 3.5 mm vacuum hose that leads over to the control valve.
The yellow arrow indicates the DVDA distributor vacuum retard port.  It is capped in this case because an SVDA is in use.
The blue arrow indicates the distributor (SVDA or DVDA) vacuum advance port.

If we remove the air filter and change the angle of the photograph you can get a better look at the connections and where they lead.  The color/meaning of the arrows are the same as in the photo above.  The smaller arrows indicate the routing of the hose or tube containing the vacuum from a port of the same color.

34PICT3 With an SVDA......
