Hi,
  www.thesamba.com is your friend.

Go to the Classifieds section, go to search and the keyword is "auto". A lot of rubbish will come up, but a lot of autostick specific stuff does too.
It took me two months before one came up for sale.

I bought my decklid emblem off a guy there. There are two types essentially. "VW Automatic" and "Automatic Stickshift". I bought an "Automatic Stickshift" one as it is rare to find this type in Australia.

Also try www.ebay.com , go to the ebay motors section and search for volkswagen parts. I personally try The samba first.

Don't worry about HP. On an autostick it isn't worth it. If someone is talking 25 HP or 40 HP, they aren't talking about a late model beetle like yours.

Enjoy

Hiya Hakgun,

Horsepower ratings are tricky at best.  You see, after 30+ years a lot can happen to a given engine.  It could have been rebuilt a number of times and during those rebuilds the horsepower rating could have been changed quite a bit.  One cannot tell just by looking at the engine.  To really determine what horsepower your engine is putting out, you would have to take it apart and do some measuring.
And...........if that weren't enough, we would need to know the engine serial number to determine its original horsepower figures.  Back in 1974 VW offered 3 basic engines (1200, 1300, and 1600) and 8 variants.  Send in your engine serial number (it probably starts with two letters and contains six digits) and we can give you the stats for its original set-up.
Lastly, do know that the Automatic StickShift decklid emblem would NOT be original for your car.  That emblem was used only during the 1968 production year (and few leftovers were slapped on early 69s), after that the decklid emblem was the same as the manual transmission VW.

BTW, the fancy AS emblem fits great where the VW one is.
