Quick question for you all since I can't find a picture. On the banjo fitting at the trans, which side does the washer go? Does it go between the ring and the trans housing, or between the bolt head and the ring?
I ask as when I replace the line yesterday, I noticed that my daily driver had it one way and the spare trans I pulled the hose from had it the other way. The fluid that came out the original hose when I removed it was a nice tannish color, but the ATF in the tank is was all nice and red like it should be. I am thinking that the placement of the washer is the reason.
Cheers!
Cobey,
My spare and the one in the car have two copper washers per banjo. They are just like a motorcycle master cylinder banjo. One to protect and seal the trans case from the banjo, the other to seal and protect the banjo from the bolt head. Given these are relatively low pressure you could use aluminium washers as well.
Have a good look in there, one washer may be still on the trans case.
In a pinch, protect the trans case first.

There is a thick one and a thin one. It's the thick one I am concerned over.
Cobey,
Trans, thick washer, banjo, thin washer & bolt. All of mine are in that order.

Thanks!
At least one of mine was wrong then. I'll have to check the other when it stops raining. Mine was: trans, banjo, thick, thin, bolt. Spare was a match to yours and how I put the replaced hose in.
