Selling my dear little friend Edel. (Wife has decided I need a "safer" car to transport the little ones in, especially on the highway.)
Body: White. In ok shape, not perfect, but not horribly ugly either. Could use some minor touch up, a paint job, and perhaps some new bumpers. No rust issues. Engine lid is dented, but I have a perfect condition one to replace it with. All the trim is in place.
Top: Black. The top, top pad, headliner, hinge covers, and front wood bow are all new, less than a year old, professionally installed (~$2k in parts and labor). No leaks! :)
Engine: Runs great, oil changed every 3000 miles, and a full tune up done at the same time. Rebuilt about ~35k miles ago. Though she currently has an aftermarket carburator and distributor with a points replacement kit, I just finished rebuilding the originals. She does mark her spot, but I am pretty sure it from the distributor. Starts up every time, does not overheat, and idles just fine. Motor has never let me down, and I typcially drive her over 300 miles a week, mixed highway and around town.
Interior: Black and white. Seat covers are untorn, dash has some cracks in it, and door windows need new seals (I have these - they just need to be put in). Door panels are in ok shape, thought pockets are sagging. Bose speakers are installed in the doors, and a subwoofer in the rear luggage area. A 200W amp and an AM/FM/Cass provide the tunes. The head unit will take an auxillary input, such as your MP3 player (iPod, etc), portable CD player, etc. I had planned to move the door speakers under the dash area, so I have a set of speaker kick panels specifically for this model. Carpet is there, kinda ratty. Knobs on vert windows missing.
Electrical: Everything works, except maybe the dome light (never used it).
Wheels/brakes: Stops just fine, no leaks. Adjusted every 3000 miles when the oil and tune up were done. Running on Riviera rims with excellent tires, larger wheels in the rear, stock in front. I have two spare Rivieras with new tires, larger yet.
Suspension: Has the typical Super Beetle shimmy from 45-50MPH, so an alignment should be done. Rear end is sagging, but can be adjusted during the aligment. Struts and shocks in good condition.
Transmission: Ok, here is the bad part. The trans went out earlier this week. (And yes, it is certainly the trans - grinds horribly in top gear). DON'T STOP READING YET!! I have a spare transmission for it that is in perfect working order (I planned ahead - it is a 34 year old car after all). I have pretty much a complete setup for a the autostick. Trans, clutch, flex plate, shifter, vac tank, control valve, various seals, etc. These all go with her.
Misc: Typically get around 25MPG. A little more if she has been freshly tuned up. Trunk has the original liner plus a carpet kit installed. Heater works VERY WELL (it will melt plastic bottles if you leave them near the vents). The fresh air fan sometimes works, but I never use.
That is her in a nutshell. If you want to take a look, no problem. You can also take her for a spin if you like, just can't go over 45 (no top gear). Photos are from when I originally got her, so the new top and wheels are not evident. I can take new ones if you like. Clear title and registration is up to date.
$3000 as is, or $3500 with the spare transmission installed.

Sorry for taking so long to reply....
I'm in northern CA, about 30 minutes east of San Francisco.
