My wife came home today saying the indicators had stopped working. I fiddled around under the bonnet behind the fuse box and got the indicators working. loose connectors on the relay.
I then had to reterminate a connector on the regulator which I did as this had been a temporary fix for some time. However when trying to start the car the ignition light now does not go out and there is no charge getting to the battery.
I checked the fuses and even changed the regulator for one off my bus but no difference. I can only think I have knocked a wire.
Anyone got any ideas.
stcos85,
Go here :

And work your way through.
Does the light disappear when you rev or is it always on?
6 wires are meant to connect to a standard regulator.

The connector for B+ (to battery) is piggy backed and another heavy wire runs to fuse box.
Also check carefully the power/earth circuit for speedo.
Enough to get you started anyway.
Volkenstein
volkenstein,
went over the car using the links you supplied.
somehow it turned out that the polarity on the generator had been revised so i followed the process to correct it and it worked.
thanks for this as it has saved me the cost of an auto electrician coming around.
