oil cooler restriction

Hi, just curious that if the oil cooler was blocked in any way would there still be oil pressure?

The relief valve allows has oil not to pass by the oil cooler.  :wink:

When You first start a cold VW Engine, the bypass valve allows the engine oil to circulate thru the engine until it reaches operating temperature and then the oil starts flowing thru the oil cooler.
