Engine Swap

I found someone selling a motor out of a 74 Ghia AS and i have a 70 beetle AS.  Would there be any differances in the trany mounts? or would there be any foreseeable problems?  I am asking this because I'd like to rebuild the motor before I tried to replace the original.

Go for it!

You'll be absolutely fine.  Everything will fit just great.  I'm running a 73 engine in my 1970 with no problems whatsoever.  And don't worry about the extra horses from the later dual port engine.  The 1970 AS will handle them just fine.
