Drive Plate Holding Fixture?

I'm down to the point on an engine rebuild where I need to remove the drive plate (flex plate) from the engine, my question is does anyone even make a Drive Plate Holding Fixture (as pictured in my Bentley manual)?  I could probably rig something up but would be easier just to buy one if available.  Also, is it important to reinstall the Drive Plate in the same position after a complete rebuild?  I only ask because I am having to replace the Drive Plate on the donor engine.  Thank you for your time.

Hi,

I have just done an engine rebuilt myself and found that by securing the pulley wheel with a simple fixing holds everything in place to undo the flex plate nut although it does require 2 people, one to hold the pulley lock and the other to undo the nut.

You can help it along by soaking it in WD40 or similaras it has probably been on there quite a while.

When I put it back I just put it back, I didn't really concern myself with its position to when I took it off. The only thing you have to remember is to do it up tight, I think the manual (I've got a workshop manual) says 230 odd lbs which I used as a guide to mean do it up very tight, a bit of scaffold pole comes in useful.
