I tried to buy the ATF engine oil pump oil seals, and found there are none in Australia...  so I have ordered 10 [min order] from Canada via the USA via a fellow Vee Dubber in Ontario...
I just hope the price isn't too expensive....
and the freight...

Hey!

Got the engine completely in bits for an overdue overhaul. Inspection revealed a badly worn (pitted) centre main.

Regarding the Automatic oil pump seal I am under the impression that it is only 1 seal. Put me straight if I'm wrong.

If you have a seal left I'm interested in purchasing two. (I'm sure I can make someone happy with it here)

Hi Elwin,
There are two seals in between the ATF & Engine pump..
they are only small... Try sourcing them from VW aftermarket or oil seal/bearing shops in NZ, You may be lucky..
Someone may still have some..  I did buy some 8 years ago...
they are 14mm x 22mm x 4mm thick...
they sit back to back in the intermediate plate, that seperates both pumps.

My Sons Girlfiend is leaving in the morning for a weeks holiday skiing in NZ... but She left here today as We are 330kms from the airport...
If I had known earlier... She could have taken them over & posted them from NZ... I'll send You an email....

Elwin contacted Me, and I have sent 2 atf/oil pump seals to New Zealand.
plus another two to a fellow AutoStick owner in Australia...

You can buy Torque converter oil seals , early and late models - 9/70 - is the changeover date... from CIP1 in Washington State...

Two Hurdles to get over in Australia...-  Freight is very expensive... plus its expensive to have Money transferred overseas by Western Union...
CIP1 takes PayPal or Mastercard so they are Great... but sends freight by AIR ONLY -- No postage to Australia..

I have another ten ATF pump oil seals coming from Canada..
Anyone in Australia needing two of these let Me know..

Toque Converter oil seals are available from CIP1 in Washington state & Canada... $25US each..   the changeover date was middle of 1970
You can tell which one You have by looking at the original seal, if the small spring around the center of the seal is visible & external, then it is an early model seal..
if the spring is internal, then its a late model - from chassis number 1102385384> on ..

I see many AS parts are still available in the US...
because of non availability of oil seals Auto Stick repairs have come to a stand still in Australia...
