When I put shifter into gear the transmission slams into gear. I found the clutch servo diaphram shot so I replaced with a good unit. I adjusted the clutch lever and servo and away I went. It ran and shifted fine last night. This morning it is doing the same thing but this time I don't hear any air leaking from the servo. Any ideas on this one, I am stumped?

Hiya 69,

"This morning it is doing the same thing"

I'm a little unclear here.  Does that mean your AutoStick is back to shifting sharply?  Or is it now shifting easily but just not making any sound or air escaping?

In any event, here are a couple of items to check........

1.  Check to see if your clutch is still "in adjust".  Follow the clutch adjust procedure (again) in Bentley.  You may have some more "slack" to take up in adjusting the clutch.

2.  Try adjusting your control valve to moderate the shifting action.  Again the procedure for this in the Bentley.

Well, it turns out that the clutch servo I just put in only had a little life left in her. I removed the vacuum line from the clutch and operated the shifter and found good strong vacuum on the system. I took a rebuilt servo apart and found that the diaphram was in great shape but when it was assembled the diaphram was not centered properly and was not working. After cleaning everything up and carefully putting the servo back together everything is working great.
