Thank goodness for spares!

Now, the wife has been nagging on me a bit because of all the VW parts I have stashed in the garage.  Honestly, everything is in boxes, stacked up, mostly.  With the exception of my spare AS trans.  Today, I got her to bite her tongue.

I gave Edel a tune up, and then fired her up to make sure there were no leaks.  Well, there was one.  The ATF hose that connects to the metal line was leaking fluid all over the place.  Now what?  The wife's mini-van is going into the shop tonight.  

Can't go buy one.  Patch it?  Didn't work.  Wait!  The spare trans!  I never took the servo or hoses off!  I went and checked - SCORE!  Let me tell you, it's a bitch to replace the line withthe motor in.  But, it was doable.

Nothing like keeping a few extra parts around.  My wife hates it but I remind her that the garage is my domain.  She clutters the rest of the place up so I have my own little area.

Sell the mini Van and get another VW!
