I did the test on the servo, it checked out fine. The servo at rest measurment in the previous post was when the spring inside the servo had colasped the bladder, that was the 8mm measurement. the car has been setting for 9 years, i replaced all hoses so they are in good shape, cv is working good. Could i possibly have a frozen clutch? and if so how would i unstick it?

Yes,
many people find they have a frozen or rusted on clutch
which is strange as the clutch is really in its own compartment..
I think ;people usually drive the car and keep moving the gear shifter knob
so the clutch should go in & out... and they have success..
I can;t rememeber anyone actually pulling the clutch apart to fix this..
which mean engine and gearbox out...

cheers

THANKS A MIL:
I want to thank all the help i have had while using this forum, it is AWESOME! I got the AS working and it works great. No grinding going in any gear and shifts good and smooth too. The problem was the clutch plate was stuck!!!!!! I read on a post by "Bookwus" how to unstick a clutch without taking the engine and tranny out. So i already had the car jacked up and the hoses were all new, the servo was adjusted right , bridged neutural switch over, started it in 1 gear, reved it up to about 2500 rpm , pushed down on the gear shift, and hit the brakes. I did this about 3 or 4 times and heard a loud pop sound. I knew the clutch had freed itself. After that the car went in reverse and all other gears without any grinding. Thanks again guys.   Terry

Great News Terry
these vehicles were built exceptionally strong, and they don't give much trouble.
after 40+ years they are still going strong.  The main problem being the hoses don't last 40 years.. lol
so, once they are replaced... they keep on going..

Happy Motoring
