Any recommendations on where to acquire a complete one?

I suspect I'll have to buy a 'normal' one for my model year and splice in the necessary additional circuits...

Hiya Achilles,

The man you want to talk to is Bob Nodvik of the Wiring Works in San Pedro, CA.

Now you need to know (from all that I've heard) Bob's work is spot-on original.  You couldn't tell the difference between one of his harnesses and one from Emden.  And, I'm guessing, that kind of quality won't come cheap.  He will do the AutoStick specific wiring also according to what I've heard.

You might want to give him a call at 310.519.8147

I bought mine from Mid American Motor Works, and It was a good price for the quality, but they had no autostick wires.  If you get an idea for what wires need to go where, they are cheap to custom make. I think that the price was around $200 for the kit.  The address is www.mamotorworks.com.

Thanks guys.  I'd uncovered the Wiring Works link on here and the Samba, wasn't sure if they would provide the AS option.

FYI: I did talk to Bob Nodvik of WW.  The harnesses for standard trans vehicles are 'off-the-shelf'; he can produce an A/S harness, but it is made-to-order and to do so, would need the terminal (plug) ends from your/an existing harness (basically, a 'core' harness).  At this writing, the price is ~50% again of the base harness.  He gets perhaps one request per year or every other year for an AS harness.

So...I think I'll just build my own.  It'll be good practice.  I seem to be getting a lot of that lately, in one form or another, on this car.
