Hiya Steve,

I have not seen Cardone in the VW marketplace before.

Just from the picture of the distributor I'm guessing that this particular unit is a remanufactured Bosch.  You can see the Bosch name on the underside of the distributor case.  In checking out Cardone, indeed they do specialize in remanufacturing auto parts.  It's difficult for me to say what kind of product they put out given that I don't know anything of their track record.

I would say this..........it might very well be worth your while to order this unit.  That way you can give it a good look close up.  Right off the bat, if it's not a 205AA, a 205P, or a 205AD (the later two distributors can also be used in your 69 AS) take it on back to Shucks.  They mention that a return of merchandise is that simple.

For what it might be worth, you can get your 205AA remanufactured by Philbin (a company with a very good track record) for less than $100 (I think).  And coincidence of coincidence, it looks as if I have just come into possession of a 205AA, so let me know how it goes.  I may have take some advice from you.

will do Mike, the price is right so if I can get a good carb lined I may just buy the dizzy to do some testing in case the new carb dosent solve all my issues. The 1-2 day delivery is awful nice as well.
