I was driving in the next town a few days ago
and the engine was revving a bit at idle when sitting at traffic lights
so, when I stopped at a car park to do some shopping
I turned the idle screw back a bit...

Yesterday morning, when driving - First i noticed the gearknob turning when I changed gears
and also noticed the engine was idling a bit too low...
then last night I noticed the gear knob turning again...
and also the idle was still too low...
and when i went to change gear at a crossroad
I found the gear shifter wouldn't move out of the gear I was in..
I revved the engine --  made it worse...
I then turned the gearshifter knob
and i was able to change gear..
I stopped and turned the idle screw in a bit

but the gear knob kept turning...
and i kept screwing it in... lol..
it seems when i adjusted the gearshifter points
a few months ago...  I didn't tighten the lock nut...

so thats what i need to do..
it seems the points were so far apart they wern't touching at all...

so, it turns out that most of My problems we caused by ME  lol
