Yeah, basket case is the right description. The amount of frankensteinism doesn't seem to match his story of being stored for 24 years. (Plus the price!)

I would part with 25 bucks for it for extra parts (IF) i lived in mich and hello California rust free (needs pan)? haha they know a few key phrases about bugs perhaps then destroy credibility by stating that it needs a pan yep sumtin fishy in the state of Michigan and it aint the ludefisk
LOL as time wears on the price may drop (hope some freshly bug bitten newbie does not get suckered by this).

? Even if you had bought a brand new car in 1975 and set in a barn, it will rust in that weather. Something fishy at the Lake!

I have seen this car in person. It is about 5 min. from my house. I was looking for a Beetle project. I would have to say what a mess. And the price is (in my thoughts outragus). I had found my 73 with good floor pans and minor rust on the body. Minor engine repair. For 2100.00. It had started and ran, but not well. After I had got it running, not clean up. I was affored 3500.00 for it.
