Hello fellow Auto-Sticker's,

I am looking for a control valve in good working conditon. The control valve in my Auto-Stick is junk to say the least. I have a feeling that all the diaphrams in the CV are hard and probably leak from the car sitting for 10 years ::). 95% of my current shifting issues have been linked to the shifter and CV. I replaced the shifter contact and reset the adjustment. Shifting and clutch engagement got much better, but still having some issues. (Clutch engagement time). As soon as I touched the clutch adjustment screw on the CV, all went bad. I only adjusted it 1/2 turn in like the Bently manual instructed. Ease of shifting went out the window :'(. I turned the screw back out 1/2 turn to where it was, nothing changed, still fubared shifting and clutch engagement >:(. I am 99% positive the CV is the culprit.

Let me know what you all have! Thank you!

Hiya Evan,

Did you catch the ad just posted by ajcarguy here in the Parts forum?  Working parts from a car with only 80,000 miles.  Might be worth checking out.

Are you referring to the valve which sits in the engine compartment up on the right with all the hoses?  I have one as well if you are still in need.  The whole AS was working fine when I disassembled the car so the CV was working as well.  Just let me know.

Hi Nick:

I'm looking for a torque converter and a flexplate for my 1971 Karmann Ghia.
Let me know either way.

Thanks

Kevin

It certainly pays to have a spare control valve...

best of luck
