My replacement gearbox - 68 beetle - 68AutoBug -

Here are some pics of My replacement gearbox.
the clutch and pressure plate [diaphram] are dated 1989 & 1990
My clutch servo is dated 1984...
so, they are relatively new items...
[compared with all 1968 items in My car at present]

Number on replacement gearbox is   BO107     848
Number on another spare gearbox    BA021     6090
Number on My current gearbox is :   B

Clutch pressure plate [diaphram] and clutch plate apart

Clutch assembly assembled...

clutch throwout bearing disassembled...
[it was then greased with lithium based Moly grease & reassembled]

Here are pics of : Gold colored axle flange.. seal is behind it...
here it hasn't been knocked in and a circlip attached to the shaft
to keep the flange on, and then a rubber cap is pressed in to stop
any oil leaking out...

The surface behind the clutch plate..
the two bottom studs [threads] have small o rings to stop oil
leaking past the nuts... naturally these need to be replaced.

there is a small needle roller bearing in the center which needs a small amount of lithium based Moly grease.
