is this part of the autostick system?

Hi, under my car. The black round canister with the hose going to the solenoid. I know what that does. But the other round part, is this part of the autostick? its on a 68 ghia, but engine and trans are 71. The hose A was just hanging loose, and hole B, should there be a hose on that? Connecting to what?

            Where is that oil junction type thing leading to? Maybe (don't have EKTA fiche handy at the moment) it is part of EGR/Vent. There would be only a few spigots up on top of your engine where it could go. Alternatively - post up on www.thesamba.com in the Ghia section.
