Quickshift?

Okay, okay.  Normally folks like to put a quickshift kit on manual trans so they can race around and switch gears quickly.  Me, I'm short, which means I have to lean to the side when I shift.  Damn annoying.  But, in my 4spd, I installed a quickshift kit and now the throw is short enough that I don't have to lean.  Is there any reason I can't use a quickshift kit for manual trans in an autostick?

Hiya Cobey,

I'm guessing that there would be no problem as long as the quickshift kit does not interfere with the points closing inside the shift lever.  The shift signal to the solenoid is much faster than any quickshift.

It's basically a spacer that goes over the stop plate to change the pivot point, so I don't think that will do anything with the contacts.

Like I said, I'm not worried over shifting more quickly like the the kit is designed for, but rather to reduce how far I have to move the shifter.

I guess I'll just spend the $5 and see how it goes.  LOL.
