VWAR Old forum !

I just recently aquired an engine from a 74 ghia and noticed that the person that pulled it cut into the flex plate with what looks like a grinder in order to seperate if from the torque converter?.    God knows what they were thinking.  I am wondering if anyone has a flex plate for sale or knows where I can aquire one.  Also, from the research I've done, all 4 mounting points on the engine are supposed to be threaded for bolts and one on the engine is not (upper left if looking at rear of engine)  :?

Insofar as flex plates go.............if you follow some of the forums you will occassionally find AS parts for sale.  e-Bay is also a possibility.  

However, there is a quicker (probably better) route to go.  Try an online VW salvage yard.  I have seen only good reviews for Way-Out Auto Salvage down in Kingston, Arkansas.  And personally speaking, I've been very happy with them.  Nice folks - good service.  They should have the parts.
