You can look at My 1968 Automatic Stick Shift Beetle during its complete restoration... Its not quite finished as yet, but getting very close. I'm hoping to have it on the road by end of July at the Latest..
incidently - Auto Stick Beetles are called "semi Automatics" in Australia.

Your beetle looks fantastic!  I even like the painted engine and tranny.  My beetle is not going to be as detailed as yours (due to my father).  The air conditioner is a nice touch, I just am interested in how/where you are going to locate the compressor for it.

thanks guys, I would never do it again... I don't think... its too easy to scratch the paint... its just that I wanted something to do while the engine was overhauled by a Mechanic...
Now, if I can just get it on the road...
I had an Auto Transmission Fluid lead from the ATF Pump, which sits on top of the engine oil pump.. I fixed that, replaced the gasket , and now the engine oil pump is leaking... so I have to pull it apart again...
For some reason, the 4 bolts that hold the pumps onto the engine are about 6mm and the holes about 10mm, so the bolts do NOT hold the gaskets in place as You bolt them together... all the workshop manuals I have say thet they should have 10mm studs with special nuts !!!
It would be quite easy to attach the pumps to the engine if that were the case ... and the gaskets would stay put.. I AM going to lightly coat the gaskets with a plastic gasket cement so they will stay put while I bolt them on..  All the manuals say : No Gasket Cement !!
I will be adding pics to the site every month as work progresses...

Hiya Lee,

Looks Great!

I have to ask.........how did you determine what color to paint each particular object?  And you are absolutely correct......that's the only AutoStick transmission I've ever seen which has been detailed.

Nice job!
