Does anyone know whether or not those aftermarket shifter locks (which lock your manual VW in one gear whilst parked) can be used on the autostick shifters???
verybody should own and drive a vintage Volkswagen!!! The world would be a nicer place to live in!!

I have often wondered about buying one of those gearshifter locks...

Not only would it lock the gearlever in gear [if thats what they do??]
the Non start in gear feature would work great.....
If You could lock it in Neutral...
then they could start the engine.... but NOT shift it into gear....
they could however lift the rear seat and take the plate over the gearshift linkage off and take it off and put into Drive 1 or 2 and away they would go.... Hopefully, no one would do that....
Maybe weld the plate on the tunnel... so it cannot come off without using a grinder....
I'm still thinking of getting one.....
