I have a couple of questions

Can I add a higher capacity oil sump to my 68 ghia autostick?  I have heard there can be issued with the oil pump?.?

Can I up grade to 85.5mm pistons  and keep the single  carb and not affect the vacuum for the transmisson?

Thanks!

Hiya Dave,

Welcome to the group!

As long as I have been into AutoSticks (since '97 on my present car) I have not seen any big problems with the ATF/oil pumps.  They seem to have the same sort of life expectancy that a regular oil pump does.  I really see no need to go to a deeper sump in any event.  Unless of course you are thinking about racing.

I'm not sure exactly how larger pistons will affect the vacuum (other than increasing it somewhat) and I would think that any differences in the strength of the vacuum signal could be accounted for in the adjustment on the Control Valve.  My question to you would be .........are you sure you want to increase the size of the pistons and keep the old carburetor?  We may be looking at the old whale breathing through a straw scenario.  Just a thought.
